The Avant are constructed (extruded) out of ¼ thick aluminium; this same aluminium alloy is used in the aircraft industry. The extensive use of ribs and studs makes the entire unit as rigid as a monolithic structure created by cement casting. All internal mechanical locking uses the helix, also used in the aircraft industry. This ensures perfect air-sealing.

To minimise ringing,the enclosure interiors have been treated with proprietory damping compounds. Various transducers used in the Avant have been specially developed to deliver excellent low frequency response - quite a task considering the very small internal volume of the speaker enclosure. The heavy-duty 26 mm (voice coil) tweeter used in the Avant 345 gives extended flat frequency response upto 25 kHz. The tweeter face plate has an integral waveguide which provides wide off-axis frequency response resulting in a larger soundstage.

The crossovers are a combination of 4th order and 2nd order LR filters and offer a smooth response over the critical midrange. They feature high grade grade components like air core coils and polypropylene capacitors for excellent transient response and superior performance.
