A Seamless Integration of Live Sound and Cinema Audio

The IIT Kharagpur Auditorium required a comprehensive audio upgrade capable of supporting both live cultural programmes and immersive multichannel cinema playback. The key challenge was to integrate two distinct audio applications within the same venue while ensuring seamless and reliable operation.

Sonodyne delivered a customised hybrid solution featuring CLA 72 Compact 2-Way Line Array Speakers, CS 2300 Series Cinema Surround Speakers, and Medium Format Cinema Screen Channel Speakers. A custom switching solution was developed to enable smooth operation between the live sound and cinema audio systems.

The CLA 72 Compact 2-Way Line Array Speakers deliver powerful, detailed and uniform sound coverage, making them ideal for live performances, cultural events and spoken-word applications. Their compact form factor, controlled coverage and high speech intelligibility ensure a consistent listening experience throughout the auditorium.

The CS 2300 Series Cinema Surround Speakers create an immersive and enveloping sound field, enhancing the realism and impact of multichannel movie playback. Their wide coverage and accurate sound reproduction help deliver a consistent cinematic experience across the audience area.

The Medium Format Cinema Screen Channel Speakers provide high-output, dynamic and detailed sound reproduction for the main cinema channels. Designed to reproduce dialogue, music and cinematic effects with clarity and impact, they form the foundation of an engaging large-screen audio experience.

The custom switching system enables seamless transition between Live Sound and Cinema Sound modes, allowing the auditorium to efficiently support multiple applications without compromising audio quality or operational convenience.
